Do you know who you can turn to in the event of a pet emergency?

As a caring pet parent, you never want to see your furry family member in distress. Unfortunately, unexpected illnesses and sudden accidents happen. At Blackhawk Veterinary Hospital, we want you to know that you’ve got a dedicated team of skilled professionals in your corner.

Some of the signs that your pet may require urgent medical attention include:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Ingestion of a toxic substance or foreign object
  • Excessive bleeding
  • Trauma, such as from a fall or being hit by a car
  • Swollen abdomen
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Convulsions/seizures
  • Loss of consciousness

If any of these signs are present, seek immediate assistance. At Blackhawk Veterinary Hospital, we always recommend calling ahead when an emergency occurs. This gives us the chance to evaluate the situation and prepare our team for your pet’s arrival.
